Impactprojecten

Social changemaking is something we do naturally. Because when you live, work, observe as a human being and designer, you notice things. Chafing things. Uncomfortable things. Things that could be better, nicer, smarter, more user-friendly, more helpful. That is why I still initiate Social Impact Labs myself: social issues that we help solve ourselves. Impact projects. Sometimes alone, often with others. Always multidisciplinary - because that is inextricably linked to social change. In addition, each discipline has a slightly different perspective on an issue. Due to other interests, other consequences, other expertise. That makes your solutions better thought out. Students can sometimes join impact projects, as an optional part of the training offer.

Because I also keep my eyes open for social issues that may/should be addressed, every Monday is reserved for various impact projects. Among other things, my initiative WeesWijzer.org (which translates to 'guide for orphans), which has been promoting the interests of orphans in the Netherlands since 2007, and an initiative for international legislation in the European Union. In some projects I also work with fellow Fellows of the Royal Society in the UK. Since September 2024 I am a proud Fellow of the RSA, the Royal Society for the encouragement of arts, manufactures and commerce. Since 1754 the RSA has been one of the leaders in socially relevant impact.
